Meet Peggyann Thorne
BIOGRAPHY
I have been painting for over 40 years and I love it. I grew up in Illinois, attended college and raised my family there. I have always used art as a way to relax and to develop new forms of creative expression. I have continued to develop my skills thru workshops and seminars. Inspiration and encouragement has come from teaching artists such as Charles Harrington, Patricia Weaver, Janet Rogers, as well as many other teaching artist. I have explored many forms of art but always come back to oils and watercolor. After I retired as a family therapist, my husband and I moved to south Florida and opened a boutique called “Dezines by Peggyann.” I worked closely with interior designers providing artist input as well as art and art projects for clients. During that time I also did commission work and murals in homes and businesses. After 12 years in south Florida we moved to central Florida and now I concentrate on my studio work. I have traveled outside the country the last few years and have expanded my paintings to reflect the beauty and uniqueness of other countries. I love to paint a “story,”and hope others can see that story when they view my art. My work has been juried in numerous exhibitions and is currently displayed in a gift shop and for sale in local galleries. I love exploring with color and design. I’m happiest when sitting at my easel and hope to keep painting until I can no longer hold my paintbrush. “So many visions to explore and so little time.” Peggyann Thorne Many of my pieces are available as a giclee, on note cards, and matted prints.
