PictureJune Knowles
June Knowles is very talented at both making lampwork beads and Kumihimo (a braiding technique).   See some of her work HERE

June is a Florida native and  has been making jewelry for more than 30 years.  Her most recent passion is making her own glass beads using glass rods and a torch.  This process is known as lampwork.  Kumihimo has become her favorite technique to highlight her handmade lampwork beads.  She is looking forward to sharing the process with you and she is sure it will become one of your favorites as well.

Kumihimo is a braiding technique that is used in the making of long decorative strands. These cords are used in a variety of decorative ways. Some people wear them as bracelets or necklaces. Others use them as functional laces or simply let them swing free.

June also teaches a class on "Hand Dyed Silk Scarves" in which participants will learn basic silk dyeing techniques with beginner-friendly silk dyes.  You can take home three 11" X 72" scarves that you dyed yourself.

Lisa Harris has lived in the central Florida area since 1971.  She moved to Clermont in 2001.  She attended Valencia Community College, UCF, and received her bachelor’s degree from Warner Southern College (now Warner University) in Lake Wales.

Art has always been a big part of her life. Her high school art teacher wanted her to accept a scholarship to the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute but her parents thought she was too young. During college she volunteered at an Orlando elementary school for two and a half years offering the students art lessons.  She also was a substitute art teacher for an elementary school in Seminole County. Other areas of her life involving her creative side include: designing a convention program cover and meal ticket booklets for a national sorority with attendance of over 1,000, designed and painted photo props and centerpieces for a local non-profit organization for four years, and painted a small mural for a business.

She has taught art classes for all ages from toddlers to later life seniors. She has had small classes and classes of up to 30 students. She has taught in craft stores, private homes, a few non-profit organizations, South Lake Art League and Sobo Gallery in Winter Garden.

She has always had a passion to share art with everyone – which led her to her latest endeavor of becoming a certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT). Zentangle is a process that everyone can learn – One Stroke at a Time.

Lisa is teaching: "Basic Zentangle", "Zendela Zentangles", "Learn to Create Zentangle Renaissance", "Create a Fall Leaf Zentangle Plaque", "Decorate Your Own Pumpkin with Zentangle Art".

Mark Nichols is offering a watercolor series at Artisans.  Mark Nichols, originally from Seattle Washington and now residing in Florida, is a professional Artist who started in theme park scenic arts and now has his own business creating Children’s Play Areas for water parks, malls, resorts, etc. BoMar Soft Playgrounds International Inc. is the name of his business.

Watercolor painting has been an extra effort during off time. He has been to numerous workshops and has studied under many great watercolor artists: Frank Webb, Judi Wagner, Tony Couch, Tony van Hasselt, Betty Lou Schlemm, Jeane Dobie, all disciples of the great watercolor teacher Ed Whitney. Click HERE to see some of his artwork that is available at Artisans.

Mark says he loves the freedom and spontaneity of watercolor along with the richness of color and transparency. The quickness of laying down washes and throwing color in it is my most exciting aspect of the medium. Most of my subject matter is landscape expressionism from my experiences all around Florida and vacationing in Maine.

Mark is teaching "Learn to Paint Abstract Landscapes with Watercolors" - a series of 4 classes.

Elisabeth Ferber's artwork can best be described as "classical representational".  She does not seek to change what is, but to paint and present it as she perceives the scene to be. She strives to create a painting that shows the beauty and character of a landscape and the life which lives there. Art is a treasured gift threefold; a privilege to create it, share it and teach it.  See some of her artwork that is available at Artisans HERE.

Elisabeth Ferber is a full time artist who started painting in 1998.  She was born in Belleville, Illinois but spent most of her adult life in Central Florida.  Born of artistic parents and having spent much of her childhood in Europe, she was exposed to a very classical art background which in turn influenced her current style.  Her landscapes are painted mostly in "plein air" on location and along with photos, used to create larger paintings.  Elisabeth participates in multiple Plein air events across Florida, the US and outside of the country with other artists, most recently in New Zealand, Italy, Switzerland and Cuba.  She also strives to paint in all the U.S. National Parks.

After graduating from Liliedahl School of classical art instructor/teaching program in January 2009, she enjoys teaching beginner/intermediate art classes at Wekiva Island in Apopka, Polasek Museum, Winter Park and her studio in Mt. Dora, Florida. Elisabeth also does demos, commissions, team building classes and murals.

Elisabeth was the cover artist for Winter Park Magazine, listed in the Best of America oil artist book, paintings included in the book "Along the Wekiva" by Jim Robinson, and marketing cover artist in multiple paintouts including Wekiva Paintout, Canaveral and New Smyrna Beach.

Elisabeth will be teaching "Learn to Paint a White Egret in Oil Paint".
