Meet Joyce Eaton Brady
Her artist endeavors began after retiring as an administrator from the Detroit Public School System. She now lives in Florida and has her "art studio" in a screened porch that looks out into her garden. Enjoying the beauty of nature inspires her to explore the wonderful avenues of creativity. She likes to use a quote that states - "Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun. Her artistic interest, focus and passion have led her to create BEADED ART JEWELRY.
Bead weaving and embroidery are essential elements of her work. Each piece that she creates is original and one of a kind. The Jewelry pieces are embellished with beads, featuring semi-precious stones, crystals, pearls, art glass and pewter. Other decorative adornments may include shells, metal pieces, silver/gold/copper leaf, ceramic pieces and terracotta tiles to form unique necklaces and coordinating earrings. Her art jewelry combines fundamentals of art, design and craft, bringing together a visually unified entity that is uniquely beautiful and functional.
Most of her artwork has been self-taught, however, she has attended workshops, classes and individual studies. She have also been inspired and influenced by many talented and creative mentors. Her artwork has been displayed in many juried exhibits including: The National League of American Pen Women, The Art of the Women of Lake County, the Lake Eustis Museum of Art, Florida CraftArt, and the Mount Dora Center for the Arts.
