BIOGRAPHY:
Plein Air & Studio Oil Painter Originally from Ohio, Brian is a central Florida oil painter who creates plein air and studio work. Art and its many forms of expression have always been a part of his life. When Brian was younger, he would spend hours drawing or painting. In 2014, Brian's artistic journey took a significant turn. His work became a more focused pursuit, involving a shift in mediums and the discovery of plein air painting. This new approach of painting on location allowed him to capture the essence of the environment, making every piece a part of the lived human experience. Creating sketches or smaller pieces on location that he uses later to influence larger studio pieces has become a key component of Brian's process. His paintings feature a variety of subjects that create visual impressions and emotional narratives. His work often consists of transparent darks that glow and thick, bright colors with vibrant brush strokes. His greatest desire is that his work becomes a subversive act of choosing joy—the joy that comes from creating, sharing, and owning original art. Brian and his wife have been married for over 17 years, and they love their lives together. They have two beautiful and talented daughters. |
