BIOGRAPHY
Upon retirement from a 40-year career as a teacher and as a UPS Store trainer, I discovered digital photography – the challenge in it, the creativity in it – the experimenting to inspire and my willingness to improve . . . . All of these are part of photography for me. It is the perfect advocation for the person who doesn’t settle for “okay”. Over the past several years, I immersed myself in photographic experiences: classes from Crealde, workshops around the state, working with a mentor, Milton Heiberg and taking photographic travel tours. All of these contributed to my confidence to enter shows and competitions. I have won awards through Orange Audubon Society’s Chertok Photography Contest, Florida Council of Camera Clubs (FCCC) where I won red and blue ribbons. My art has been juried into the Osceola Arts shows, “Florida in Focus”, and “Creativa: Woman Made Art Show”. I participated in several of Winter Garden’s SOBO juried themed exhibitions from “Artist on Fire”, “Animalia”, “Flower Power” to the “Wild, Wild, West” exhibit. It is my hope this next phase of becoming an associate member of Artisans on fifth brings a new audience to my work. I look forward to greeting many new artists and people as I begin offering my art for sale. The photo above was taken at the Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Chipley, FL where I had a first hand encounter with wolves. All the images below are available any size per request, on canvas, acrylic or framed art ready to hang on your wall. Matted prints and note cards. |
