BIOGRAPHY

Even before entering school, I was intensely interested in drawing comic strip characters and have become a life-long learner of the arts. I have studied techniques and art appreciation at the University of Central Florida, Valencia College, The Crealde Center en Winter Park, and have been a student of Bob Morrison, an art professor at Polk Junior College. Due to the advantages of technology, learning continues with available classes on the internet.

During my long career as an educator, I encouraged, instructed and make sure there was scheduled time to value art and to be creative at the middle and elementary level. Art can be integrated into all subject areas and the output of students is truly amazing. Their energy influenced me to always be creative as much as possible, no matter what.

Always living in the central Florida area makes me a true native. Because my home now is in a rural area, Polk City, I have become a nature enthusiast. Being retired, I now have the  time to explore wild flowers, wild life and grow a vegetable garden which also gets wild. Ron, my husband, and a nearby married daughter helps me keep it tamed. Recently, I have been eco printing which uses these actual botanicals growing around me within the printing process. The process involves soaking the plants in an iron solution, layering them between pressed pages, binding and then boiling the stacks for hours. Lovely Images emerge.

My work is Eco Prints and Book Markers in Mixed Media, with acrylic ink, watercolors, pastels and color pencils.

It is an honor to be member of Artisans on fifth. I look forward to serving the community and interacting with those that promote artists. Being an active member of a cooperation that support the Arts is rewarding.

All prints are available in different sizes, please contact me if you need a larger size or printed on canvas.
