Meet Laura Grieco

Artist Statement
Laura Grieco is a native Floridian who “accidentally” began working with metal at the age of nineteen, when she was looking for a job. She found she had a passion for working with her hands and during her career she transitioned from a hands-on craftswoman to management. Laura had a 32-year career at Disney in their manufacturing division and as such was exposed to many talented craftworkers who unselfishly shared their talents. Her exposure to manufacturing included sheet metal, welding, forming metal, machining, sculpting, painting, fiberglass, silicone, vacuum-forming, mold-making, etc. After retiring, Laura was again interested in working with her hands and exploring her creativity. Designing and creating diverse types of jewelry has fulfilled that passion. |
