Join us in our "Celebration of Spring" tied to the earth in so many ways. This month theme, "Celebrating Spring", unites our window display for our Featured Artists for both jewelry and for wall art. Debra's jewelry uses Minerals and Gemstones pulled from the earth uniting her combinations into striking organic pieces. Susan's photography art relies heavily on her Audubon experiences focusing on birds. Meet the artists on March 21 from 2-4 pm. at Artisans gallery.

"Reflections of Nature" is the theme of the window for February. Inspire Your Heart With Art Day is an annual celebration observed on January 31st of every year. Art is a thing that is in existence since the start of the human civilization. It is appreciated both for its beauty and happiness it gives to those who see it. There are different forms of arts like paintings, composite photography, fused glass, music, theatre, sculptures, dance or poetry and they are to be celebrated with a Day in the calendar. Our Jewelers Artists, there is seven of them in our gallery are bringing the bling of the season to you in a Holiday Jewelry Show. They all have a very distinctive style, from Silversmiths, wire-wrapping, bead embroidery, broken china and bead-crochet. Jewelry Artists Joyce Brady, Gwen Hertz, Maria Hormaza and Patricia Christmas will be present to show you their new collection for the Holidays, answer any question you may have, and because is at the same time as Art in the Alley, you get a 10% discount of your total purchase. At Artisans we love to give back to our community, for that reason every year we launch and conduct Bra-Vo, an Art Bra Gallery Exhibition and Auction in cooperation with the Mount Dora Center for the Arts Gallery, next door to Artisans to raise funds for no or low cost diagnostic testing and treatment for breast cancer, for men and women of Lake County.

Featured artists: Ray Mellott and Patricia Christmas
August is a special month for all artists, celebrating all art and artists. And, Artisans is a home for 28 of us.
Our featured artists for this month are Ray Mellott and Patricia Christmas.
Ray is a wood turner and hand carved sculpture artist, using mostly locally harvested wood. He creates bowls, vessels, salt cellars, cutting boards, spatulas and home decor items.
Patricia is a Silversmith and jewelry designer, she use sterling silver with accents of 14, 18 or 22 karat gold and all natural gemstones.
Join us to see her latest jewelry collection and Ray's works on August 9 from 5 to 8 pm. Or anytime in August.

July 2019 - Gwen and Mike Hertz
Gwen creates original designs in wire-wrapped jewelry. She uses Sterling Silver and 14kt gold-filled wire and Swarovski crystals to make gemstones and artisan- created fused glass into pendants and earrings. Mike makes art glass home decor, as clocks, decorative plates, table and pendant lamps. He also does hand-made lamp shades.
They will be at the 2nd Friday Art in the Alley event at Artisans on fifth from 5 to 9 pm. Gwen will do a wire wrapping demo and Mike will be available to share information about how he makes his beautiful lamps.

June 2019 - Joyce Brady, Helen Cutshaw and Heather J.W. Hopcraft
Joyce Brady is a wearable art artist who makes beaded jewelry. Helen Cutshaw takes broken vintage china and makes pendants wrapped in Sterling Silver. Heather J.W. Hopcraft is a fiber artist who features infant wear, purses and tote bags. These three ladies fill our front window with lots of "eye candy".
May 2019 - Marla Montgomery and Shara Abel
Marla is a fused glass artist and Shara is an awared-winning composite photographer. Shara has included some of her many ribbons which illustrate the quality of her artwork. They created a front window display that is reminescent of a garden filled with flowers.

Artisans on fifth, a non-profit, co-operative art gallery in downtown Mount Dora, will feature student art from Tavares & Umatilla High Schools throughout the month of April. The opening reception will coincide with 2nd Friday Art in the Alley, scheduled for Friday, April 12th, from 5-8pm. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
Tavares High School Art program has been under the leadership of Mrs. Esty Mickens for the past 9 years and she has mentored students through basic art techniques to advanced. Her AP 2D/3D Studio program has grown exponentially over the past 9 years. Many of the students in the program have received scholarships and won prizes for their artwork. Michelle Norvell is one of these students who believes that her photography allows her to “capture beauty in a moment” , as evident in her attached photo.
Umatilla High School art program has grown under the leadership of Mr. Stephens. Many of the students in his art program have won scholarships and prizes for their impressive work. A. Islava is one of these students and her attached potrait shows her potential and skill after 3 years of continued growth and direction from Mr. Stephens.
Artisans on fifth is dedicated to giving back to the community through an Annual Student Art Exhibit, Marilyn Dodge Scholarship for Visual Arts & Lee Dodge Scholarship for Performing Arts (given yearly to a high school students), and Bra-Vo (an art bra fundraiser).

"Ginger Falk" is a watercolor artist whose work will be on exhibit in the front window of Artisans on fifth during April, 2019 as our Featured Artist. 2nd Friday "Art in the Alley"
![]() On the second Friday of each month, Mount Dora has a special event - "Art in the Alley". It takes place on Royellou Lane, which is the alley next to the Mount Dora Center for the Arts building. It is from 6 to 9 pm and features art and music exhibitors showcasing their original art, handmade goods and acoustic sounds. Start your stroll down the alley and around downtown Mount Dora at the Mount Dora Center for the Arts at 138 E. 5th Ave. (next door to Artisans on fifth). Pick up your "Art in the Alley" map and as you stroll around have the map punched at each of the gallery stops along the way -- including Artisans on fifth. Once you have visited all of the galleries, bring your completely-punched map to the Gatehouse Galley at the Lakeside Inn to be entered into a raffle for a special prize.
